The blade has the 7 Med Unit Flash engraved on one side and the 7 Med Cycle Medic emblem on the opposite side.
The Tanto blade was inspired by the short armour piercing swords used by Samurai in feudal Japan. The blade shape replaces a curved belly for an angular edge transition that makes for a much stronger and more prominent point. The durable tip and strong robust point makes it good for piercing through tough objects. While most modern uses of a tanto does not carry over from the traditional use as an armour puncturing tool, they can still be used to great effect for day-to-day tasks.
