Description

The Shelter System functions around the following: something to sleep on; something to sleep in & something to sleep under. With this in mind & the multi-application of these items, inclusive of a already set-up Ridge Line, one covers the Core Temperature control aspect. (this does not include personal clothing items)

The aim of the Shelter System is not only a complete sleeping refuge, but also the ability to set up a quick shelter should the need arise; the application of a outer-layer in a clothing multi-layer set-up and various other multi-applications… from having a tarp-type sleep application to doing a Ranger-Roll sleeping bag…

Shelter System
Coghlans Survival Bag  1
Rothco Poncho Liner enhanced – camo/tan  1
PONCHO – AP Poncho -Rubberized OD  1
550 paracord  1
275 paracord  1
Coghlans ABS Tent Pegs 15cm 6pk  1

The Coghlans Survival Bag (basically a BIVI Bag) is the “something to sleep on” part of the system: fill it with debris (from leaves to twigs), and sleep on top of it. Further to this is has many other wind-proof/water-proof applications, as it is in essence a large plastic bag…

The Rothco Poncho Liner can be zipped closed, which makes it basically a sleeping bag to sleep in. Open it up and tie it to the Poncho and it can become a Woobie, or Ranger Roll… wrap it around you like a blanket for increased warmth.

The Poncho is just that; a rain cover that can be worn, or one can close off the cap and use it as a tarp for something to sleep under (see pictures) with the use of the 7 meter Ridge-Line (already constructed).
