Cold Steel’s Shovel is modeled after an original Soviet Spetsnaz (Soviet SF) entrenching tool. With higher grade steel & improved wooden handle this is the ideal: shovel, axe, machete, knife and even self defence tool (which was one of the applications of the tool by the Soviets).
The Spetsnaz Shovel is also immensely popular with the throwing community, as its head-heavy balance and multiple sharp edges make it an excellent alternative to a Tomahawk for sport and recreational throwing!

The shovel head and socket are forged from medium carbon steel, then heat treated for maximum strength, while the utility axe edge can easily be improved to razor sharpness. The Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel is ideally suited for digging foxholes, bunkers, chopping branches, building shelters, an improvised paddle, and as a last-resort, a protective tool!
