Description
As the name implies, this is an elementary braai pouch with minimal tools. There is also some suggested options to carry with you. This is suitable when on your motorbike, whilst cycling, or any outdoor activity. Ideally where you would like a back-up or your own braai kit with you. This Basic Braai Pouch solution is set for 1 person, but can be upgraded to 2 people with the addition of an extra knife, fork & cup.
The Swiss Army knife gives one access to a bottle opener/can opener (for that all important beer next to the fire) and a cork screw. It also ensure that you will have your own personal toothpick in the knife.
The following items are suggested for the solution, and not supplied:
- 2 x Megamaster Rhino Balls – 8 pack – this is highly recommended (available at Outdoor Warehouse)
- BIC Lighter
- Pocket Tissues (most Dischem’s have them)
- Heavy duty foil / pie tin folded (foil to use to pack leftovers, pie tin can be used as a plate)
- Plastic bag from Checkers for rubbish or anything else you would need a bag for
- Additional toothpicks inside a cut-off straw (in a straw so they don’t get lost or all over the pouch)
EDCS Comment
The Rhino Balls as a fire-lighter is highly recommended – this will start a fire even if you use reasonably large hard-wood as kindling.
