My axe has a perfectly straight haft, not splintery at all and lightly varnished. The grain is not parallel to the head, but the angle is acceptable. The head is well-formed, slightly concave and the bit is extremely sharp, like a knife blade. Comes with a rubber bit guard. Poll is nice and flat. The eye is flush with the top of the head. It’s quite light for a bigger axe. Made in Taiwan. This axe has many favourable mentions and reviews. Delivered day after ordering, good work EDCS. I look forward to using it.
