Description
An eye bath is a small, contoured cup used to flush dust, debris, or chemicals out of the eye using sterile saline or water. This item can be included in first aid kits for house, work or travel and the outdoors.
Suggested way to Use an Eye Bath
- Clean the cup: Wash and rinse the eye bath thoroughly with clean water or saline before use.
- Remove contacts: Take out contact lenses if you wear them.
- Fill the cup: Pour sterile saline or eye wash solution until it is one-third to half full.
- Position your eye: Bend your head forward and press the cup snugly against your eye socket to prevent leaks.
- Rinse: Tilt your head back, open your eye wide, and move your eyeball in circles so the liquid washes the entire surface.
- Blink or rock: Keep your eye open and gently rock your head or blink for about 30 seconds.
- Get help: Seek medical advice if you experience lasting pain, redness, or vision changes
