Monofilament Polyamide, Non-Absorbable Suture
NYLON sutures are synthetic, non-absorbable, monofilament sutures used in medical practice in the skin, tendons, ligaments, muscle sheaths, linea alba and subcutaneously. The sutures are produced in a monofilament construction, dyed with Copper Phthalocyanine Blue, in various lengths, diameters and with surgical needles attached. Nylon sutures meet all the requirements of the European Pharmacopeia for non-absorbable surgical sutures.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS
- A non-absorbable sterile suture composed of the long-chain aliphatic polymer Nylon 6.
- Nylon is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation.
- Used most often for skin suturing in medical science
- Minimal acute inflammatory reaction in the tissue, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue.
- Progressive hydrolysis of the Nylon in vivo may result in gradual loss of up to 20% of its tensile strength per year.
