Monofilament Polyamide, Non-Absorbable Sutures
NYLON sutures are synthetic, non-absorbable, monofilament sutures used in veterinary practice in the skin, tendons, ligaments, muscle sheaths, linea alba and subcutaneously. The sutures are produced in a monofilament construction, dyed with Copper Phthalocyanine Blue, in various lengths, diameters and with surgical needles attached. The sutures are supplied sterile in boxes of twelve. Nylon sutures meet all the requirements of the European Pharmacopeia for non-absorbable surgical sutures.

Description
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
- A non-absorbable sterile suture composed of the long-chain aliphatic polymer Nylon 6.
- Nylon is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation.
- Used most often for skin suturing in veterinary science
- Minimal acute inflammatory reaction in the tissue, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue.
- Progressive hydrolysis of the Nylon in vivo may result in gradual loss of up to 20% of its tensile strength per year.
