The lined polyester cover found with the Canteen Set – Black can be used to handle hot Cup when removing it from the fire/stove. One can also wet the cover in a river while walking to assist in cooling the water in the canteen. Replace this Rothco canteen with the Nalgene canteen, which is better quality… it can even handle HOT water.
